About Coach Helena
I started skating at four years old, training in Los Angeles, California. Representing Mexico, I was Mexican National Champion and Junior Olympic Champion from age 11 to 18, and I competed internationally on the Junior Grand Prix circuit and at Four Continents, skating in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Korea, the Czech Republic, and Norway.
Landing all my triple jumps didn’t happen by accident. Alongside my on ice training, I put in years of dedicated off ice conditioning, the kind of technical groundwork most skaters never see, but that separates skaters who land jumps consistently from those who don’t.
Today I coach at Missoula Figure Skating Club in Montana. I started this analysis service because I know what it’s like to need expert feedback and not always have access to it. I bring the same eye for detail to every video I review that I once needed from my own coaches, and I’d love to help you improve, wherever you’re skating from.
